No!” squealed Shimmer Leaf.

“Let her go!” shouted Addie.

Clara didn’t say anything. She just raced toward Oliver.

Oliver was too fast for her, though. Holding the net closed with one of his hands, he started scrambling up to his treehouse. The treehouse had a trap-door entrance. As soon as Oliver climbed through it, the door slammed shut. Clara climbed up the ladder, pounding on the door from below.

After a minute, Oliver appeared in the treehouse’s single window. He held up a large jar. Inside, Sky Dance fluttered frantically. Addie could see her banging her wings against the glass.
